You can make your Audi dealer lucky for the same money in two ways. Either you order from him an A6 Avant with all extras and equipment, or just three in basic configuration. In advertising it is often said: "Three for the price of one", here it is just vice versa.

And do not think even, you have to suffer in the basic version. 132 kW (180 hp), it is for the cheapest petrol engine. The diesel will cost at least 2,500 Euro more with less 2 kW. Much more important, however, for a nearly five meters long and at least 1700 kg heavy car is the comparison of the torque with 380 to 320 Nm naturally in favor of the diesel.

The options list contains nothing but temptation. The change to the diesel engine would be the first 'sin'. Almost as expensive would be LED instead of halogen light. Such a thing is not yet available in the perhaps most directly comparable Volkswagen CC. By the way, headlamp leveling in the A6 you get for nothing, high beam assistant costs only 135 Euro, but will still need some development time.

To save with this car is really difficult. Plan quiet 950 Euro for a painting. Unless you want to choose only between white and black. Pleasant, there is for the A6 limousine no signal red at a bargain price as for the Passat. Red, with such a big car ...Were you ever asked if you want to move up immediately to the allroad quattro? As a basic model to obtain only with this fabulous three-liter petrol engine, or much better, diesel engine. In this higher region of 20,000 Euro even disappear the price difference between petrol and diesel version.

Or this, even when cold running, still distinguished 3-liter diesel engine in the normal A6 Avant: 7.000 Euro. No manual transmission, at least with Multitronic: 2.200 Euro. About sound, we have not even mentioned, Bang & Olufsen: 6.000 Euro. Anyone who reads the options list must think Audi earns no money with the simplest standard equipment.

The result of a well-equipped A6 Avant is then, also in addition to the performance at a low diesel consumption, a variety of little helpers. That such a car closes electrically the rear hatch, we already know from the Passat among others. But that even the luggage compartment cover electrically goes back for better loading is a more recent experience.

With cameras for parking, we are also familiar. But that the individual images are combined so cleverly, that an image is formed from a virtual camera above the car is new again. And that is exactly what one really needs. One wants to have in sight all relatively close to the car.

It is therefore easy to rage against the charge lists of today's luxury vehicles, but who goes to a shop and orders consequently the basic model against the concerns of all salesmen there and perhaps also with a very long time of delivery. And learns finally how long does such a car, because you can not sell successful such a car ever again. 03/12
