The eighth generation ...

Stormy times, not only in politics but also for the car manufacturers. Meanwhile, there are calendars on which they report the monthlyinnovations of a year. Gone are the times when one changed a model series every year.

Even with the model names it will slowly confusing. Or you can distinguish between the A4 and A5? No, this is not meant to terms of optics, what is also not so easy. But you know right away in which of the two series are hidden Allroad, Avant, Coupe, Convertible and Sportback? And if there even is a Sportback with 'normal' engine?

This is the way with nearly all manufacturers. Just as with the styling. Somehow, back in fashion are classic limousines with notchback. And such coupes, like four-door also. The strongly curved inward side surfaces have not proven successful. Even BMW abandon thereof with the new 1 series. Typical designer: first provoke and then retract.

Of interest at the the face-lifted A4 is the front, again somewhat more reminiscent of past Audis. The headlights seem more even, less edges. But the inner life is currently changing very much. Instead of the light points, LED light strips run sometimes several in parallel wild through the whole headlight. The parked car (without daytime running lights) appears wider and more confidently.

All engines with supercharging ...

So, to resolve the mystery of the top, Avant and Allroad belong to the group A4. Since this time it is just a facelift, all changed simultaneously and already on sale soon. Had to be indeed after just such at Mercedes and the new 3 series from BMW. Amazing things comes out through the knowledge about the engines. Except for the for E85, there are only two petrol engines (both direct-injection four-cylinder), however, four diesel drive units. Even when still more come later, you can see clearly the priority.

You have to admire the makers at Audi, as they increase from model to model the interior processing and impression and then also differentiate towards the more expensive model series. The other subsidiary companies are close on the front runners heels and the parent company itself, of course. There it is difficult to keep distance. Needless to say that in doing so, the control concept was again slightly simplified.

Of course, in the fuel consumption has again done something. Here, Audi has lately been chased by Mercedes namely at the values in practice, which one trusts recently more significance as the consumption in the standardized driving cycle. A little of the saving effect may come from the newly introduced recuperation during braking. At 119 g/km for the most advantageous car still will be almost certainly added an ecological.

In the options list someday one would have to nominate the cars, whose base price can be doubled or even tripled through extras. In the Internet is rife the joke, in which the farmer get angry when buying an Audi and sells the Audi chairman a cow all-weather and thereby charged extra 'all-weather hooves' and 'for several voices signalling device. Despite undoubtedly great talent his list is by far not compare with that of Audi.
