Digital is almost everything nowadays and songs of praise thereon omnipresent. But how do we cope with it? Have a look at the ride to the top in the Daimler-Pavillion. Still, one can distinguish between reality and virtuality. But it becomes also clear what perform metre-high projection screens. In the video below the contrasts become blurred already more likely.
Still the real vehicles drive from the side to the stage. When will they drive directly to us through the game wall, beforehand shown still extremely realistic? In 'dark' light is no longer clear then, whether there really stands a car or is displayed only.
Switches from design in the aerodynamic mode
Beautiful new world, the developments of new cars reduced by a quarter. From the presented prototype here is said to have needed 10 months only. However, the time has been worthwhile when you look at the specific features of this car. Unlike previous concept cars of Mercedes this time a few useful ideas are summarized under the theme aerodynamics.
0.25 is the drag coefficient amount, for a prototype still not breathtaking. But then the car crossed the limit of 80 km/h and transforms. Front the changes remain moderate, but tear-off edges rear move out 40 centimetres far. Instead of the rear-view mirror, there are cameras. Perhaps even more practical is the change to the rims, which now mutate to disk wheels.
Certainly, extendable rear and also front spoiler there are already, but a whole rear? And hopefully the openings at the rims are recoverable also at more than 80 km/h if from high speed must be braked down. Needs getting used to: A car should now have no longer visible headlamps. With the earlier flaps in front of the headlights, in any case the system is not comparable.
The thus achievable drag coefficient of 0.19 is certainly worthy of all honour, even though there might be difficulties with the registration of a vehicle, which extends around sharp 40 centimetres while driving. As usual, we will leave it up to you to judge about the design. 09/15
