Alfa started early featuring 'normal' cars with over head camshafts (OHC). Unfortunately, in the beginning this led to durability problems. But the actual driving with such an engine was an experience, because the engine felt awake already for low numbers of revolution. Acoustically, the engine was well-sounding, too. A prerequisite for fun was a garage that was skilled in adjustments and fine tuning though.
In spite of its rigid axle in the back, the suspension provided a good compromise between sportive and comfortable. This might have been due to the wishbone construction in the back.
