The projection in the hood is the car's trademark. It suggests a very powerful engine, but it is not as powerful as Alfa had hoped for when introducing the Alfetta. The Montreal engine was targeted, but due to the oil crisis they had to make do with six cylinders.
The quality of the body should not be the main subject, as there is - besides the transaxle - principle - a new engine! It differs in the arrangement of the cylinders and in the number of camshafts per cylinder bank. The V-shaped valves steer one row directly, and the other row via bucket tappets, short horizontally lying push rods and cross-over levers. Although such cases of complex deflection in the cylinder head are not completely new, nevertheless, this construction is fairly noteworthy. The achievement and sound are great. Naturally, like nearly all Alfas, also this car likes a swig.
