The news: Daimler sold the last 4% of originally 9.1% Tesla shares with a horrendous profit of well € 700 million. A little one must now fear with Tesla, because Toyota, too, has sold its shares (of course, with a similar rate of profit). And what has all this to do with the B-Class?

There is a modest facelift that of course also has as target the electrification. In USA it took place already in summer and you can guess who supplies the components thereto. Right, it is Tesla Motors. Now Daimler CEO Zetsche tries to explain the balancing act between sale of shares and ongoing cooperation.

Of course, there is also great interest on a hybrid in the B-Class in Europe. You may remember that once the high construction of the first A-Class was justified with the possible placement of components of alternative drive systems. In the public indeed came only the fuel cell. And the B-Class is simply the only remaining successor of the 'old' A-Class.

But it is more complicated, because Daimler has namely simultaneously launched a program with 10 to develop plug-in hybrids until 2017, starting of course in the S-Class. Whether Tesla plays a role in this case, or their components be replaced in the long term, remains unclear. Of course, the consumer is interested in a possible PlugIn in the B-class, but on the one still has to wait.

So, here and now there is the 'new' B-class, little changes to the front and rear and with each four petroleum and diesel engines. Then further a natural gas variant and earlier in November those hybrid drive of Tesla. It is a success story with 380,000 sales since 2011. Was to be expected, the change to the new 'family face' with integrated LED daytime running lights in the headlight. Also now available the LED illumination of the lane.

Whether the individual types can still be distinguished from up front, is another question, but such problems have competitors also. Let us rather turn to the 7 or with surcharge 8 inches large free-standing display. Or the chronograph-look of the instrument cluster. Or the new multi- function steering wheel with three spokes. One thing is clear, Mercedes is fighting for the preservation of its upper price level.

Interesting in this context, of course, the development of Tesla Motors, whose stock price has risen so far by a percentage almost four digits, despite persistent burning of capital. Obviously one does not trust the company to be able to create in addition to a network of special charging stations a factory for batteries also still at least one new model.

Indeed, Daimler invokes the cooperation with Tesla already since the first E-Smart, but has long since founded its own daughter company 'Deutsche ACCUmotive' at the same time. One can imagine from where be obtained the components eg for plug-in hybrids soon. 10/14
