Grand C-Max with sliding doors rear

Comfortable entry due to high seating position. The view focuses on a dashboard overcrowded with buttons and small triangular windows between the very oblique A-pillars and the front door frame. Whether thereby enough overview is possible in case of emergency?

Ford's usual key inserted and the ignition switched on. Immediately the (very) small display between the speedometer and revolution counter above the petrol gauge and temperature display makes clear that you are sitting in a Ford.

Strictly the electronics pays attention that the clutch is depressed to start. Of course, one is also reminded of the still open door. In contrast, the engine started makes little fuss. Unobtrusive but not boring is the design, considering the difficulty to "dress" a van.

An elongated chrome strip accompanies the first slowly rising lower edge of the lateral window surfaces even when they end towards the D-pillar with a strong momentum upwards. Below is even room for slightly flared fenders around the wheel arches.

LED in the exterior mirrors and from rear noticeable the greater part of the lights on the boot lid complement the front lights on both sides alongside the upper grille looking slender and filigree. In contrast, its lower counterpart seems downright brute, although it is wrapped in dark plastic. In turn discreetly the fog lights.

In the rear are not possible so many subdivisions, as the closed surface has in height. Maybe a slightly larger window could help, but there are indeed the vigorously swinging up window bottom edges rear in the way. However, a very large luggage compartment with 40-20-40 completely foldaway seats will be usable when the tailgate is opened (via a button). The middle rear seat can be folded away even in favour of more legroom for the two others. 09/13
