So far so good one has provide it with everything, whereupon fans of sporty small saloons attach importance. Through painting in body colour more inconspicuous designed broadening of the wheel arches outward cover 10 mm more up front and 20 mm more rear. There are two trapezoidal exhaust ends and the grille is designed more striking.

The headlights stay with halogen, but with a 'distinctive' light guidance system. Then the 208 GTI is also recognizable as a 'road racer' at night. Oh, we almost forgot the painted callipers, waiting for its hard tasks behind the bicoloured painted rims.

Of course, the 208 is ideal for the larger engine. It has manageable dimensions and has become lighter. In addition the small steering wheel and the relatively clear view of spacious instruments. Furthermore, of course, it is affordable due to the basis of the normal 208. Inside the GTI differs from this more. Outwardly it hides its sportiness skillfully.

The inner values in detail: The steering wheel with 35 cm diameter is covered with perforated synthetic leather, flattened below and there particularly characterized as part of the GTI equipment. Top the inevitable red stripe points out that it is to bring into exact centre position.

Although Peugeot claims it would stand unusually flat, but in the depth it can actually only stand quite steep. After all, sporting natures can remove oneself far enough thereof and still have good access. Sloppy long distance riders could even park the arms partially on the thighs.

Door trim, shift knob, floor mats, hand brake handle and part of the cover on the dashboard are furnished with red decorative stitching. The seats with GTI logo, the pedals from perforated aluminum and sill trims convey the certainty to sit in a vehicle with performance.

1.6 liter distributed on four cylinders would thereby not necessarily perceived as a huge step compared with the legend 205 GTI, were it not for gasoline direct injection and turbo-charging. This then results in twice as much power and torque like the example from 1987.

Amazing how saving even finds its way into the sports versions. 205 tyres after all, are now more likely to become common, even if they have an even so small cross section. The 208 GTI would have even been among the model cars with 139 g/km some time ago. 06/14
