A suspension is a very complex matter. In the conception of an engine one can more likely predict the expected performance as with the suspension. Of course, there are tendencies, but to a good tuning is essential the good feeling of prime drivers. Sometimes in the mix even relatively normal ingredients comes out something special and that is generally assumed for the M3.

Maybe it's because this series is attended completely by the factory and not for example the engine from a supplier or more distant part of the factory. In any case, the M3 is provable said, that it can take and gain under certain circumstances also against vehicles with more power. It must not be due to the concept of front engine/rear-wheel drive, this have other premium vehicles, too.

It is said not for nothing that a vehicle still 'to be tuned' shortly before production. Suspension that is a complete package of aerodynamics, propulsion, weight distribution and what one commonly holds for it. But there not a part of the have the final say but the good mixture, which it experts on the steering wheel allows to exploit these qualities fully.
