 BMW 7 series
In 1977, finally, BMW presented a premium class vehicle again. 13 years after the 502. Its shape was quiet similar to the just before introduced 6-series. BMW just offered 6-cylinder engines with carburetors at first, from 1979 on the engines specified on top, from 1980 there was the turbo-charged 745 i.
Till 1986 there were no 8, 10 or even 12-cylinders. Obviously, BMW was not sure about whether they would have found a market. The factory inserted what it was best in: 6-cylinder engines. Later on this idea changed due to the market success and market pressure thoroughly.
