If we are honest, the charger merely turn up a bit more and thereby to generate 7 kW (10 HP) more performance, still does not justify a surcharge of at least 4,000 €. So you have to come up with already more. The know the Škoda people also. On the other hand, you need models that stand out from the crowd. The pull along with, e.g. the normal brave Octavia.
Now you know where does the type designation '230' comes from (HP). Incidentally, the CO2-emissions remained the same. If one knows that Octavia and VW Golf in principle share the same platform, you can also say, the RS 230 has the complete drive of the stronger of the two GTI's, of course, including limited-slip differential, but without the progressive steering.
At VW one can sit back and relax, because the Octavia RS 230 is significantly more expensive than the four-door GTI Performance and contrary to this can be equipped with adaptive damping (+1000 €). Also there's the Golf R with 221 kW (300 hp) and four-wheel drive. Because even an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch can not prevent that in such a way motorized front-wheel drives 'scratch vigorously with their feet'.
With Škoda one tries hard to justify the prices by extras. After all, the car has soothing nine airbags. One should nevertheless take to heart not too much the new display ad for the lap times. The rims are a little more conspicuous than case of the GTI and there are nice features like dimmable and folding exterior mirrors, coverings with decorative stitching, decorative inserts made of stainless steel and black paintings.
On which group of people the car aims, probably show best the rear spoiler for the saloon and the sound generator at which you can adjust the intensity of the engine sound inside the car. 08/15
