The Honda Civic is more European from 1984, the rear more steeply. A leap in development make the engines. They now have three valves per cylinder, more power, and thanks to fuel injection a lower fuel consumption. One year after introduction, they are even changed to catalyst with Lambda control.

Meanwhile, a third body variant is added, a sports coupe. The "CRX" has the most powerful engine and so that appropriate performance. Also much vaunted will be its relatively simple but smart chassis. 1985 it receives a more powerful engine.
