To name a car after the number of doors that can come to mind Italians only. And then the idea to present still a smaller model also with four doors. Now imagine, the New, e.g. from VW would be called simply 'four-door" instead 'Phaeton'. But the Italian language can do just that and with the necessary conviction can be represented almost everything. This of course has its background, more precisely the legendary history of Maserati. One has long been waiting for non-racing cars and much more longer for limousines. If you look at the vehicle from the outside, one might suspect that Maserati has assumed the role of the limousines meanwhile neglected of Jaguar. It still succeeds Italian design to stand out from the German and thereby to discover a niche. Still added this wonderful Ferrari engine, here even earlier equipped with turbochargers than in the parent company. However, you must like very much the move away from familiar paths in order to place the demanded money on the table. There, the six-cylinder with all-wheel drive turn out to be a bargain what it is naturally not. After all, the tests evidence the car to be more solid and eg less warp resistant in comparison to its predecessor. That would be the limit, so much money and then a let down ... 07/14
