No, Hyundai means with Genesis clearly not the British rock group around Peter Gabriel, but it is the background of the name, the probably also the rocker had in mind. The term comes from the Old Testament and says something like beginning, actually thought as 'sustainable' development to final resolution.

Transferred religious historical consciousness on Korean cars, but not intended as a mere hint, but more as challenge to the big, established manufacturers. And not just as a balloon, the loses the air little by little, but acquires and defends a place among the biggest players on a solid foundation.

One started with a limousine 2008, although not in Germany, which united front engine with rear wheel drive on a conventional basis. Options were in-line four-cylinder and V6 engine. Only in 2010, the model Genesis came to Germany for the first time, but only as a coupé, in the V6 version even with rear spoiler.

Here you can see the facelift version of 2012 with the adapted on the other models hexagonal grill, LED technology in the rear lights and well over 20 percent more torque at the 2 litres turbo and almost 30 percent more performance. The increases at V6 are around 10 percent (see below).

Hyundai Genesis from 2012
TorqueR4 Turbo372 Nm at 1900-3500 rpm
V6400 Nm at 4700 rpm
PerformanceR4 Turbo202 kW (275 HP) at 6000 rpm
V6255 kW (347 HP) at 6300 rpm

Due to lack of demand only until the end of 2013 in Europe.
