There already many folding roof convertibles at the first presentation of the C70, but it is said of it, it is the most successful visually, because its designers have prioritized an eye-friendly, closed version. Since it is even four seats, some problems were to solve in the technical realization, before the three-part roof can be opened and closed in a reasonable time (of at least 25 seconds). Because of the three roof elements, an additional fold line remains in the roof, but this is not noticeable by special wind noises.

The rest of the vehicle styled by Pininfarina in its design reminds strongly of the S40. Keep only the typical handicaps of this type of vehicle, the minimum space rear and in the trunk, which with the roof folded down instead of 400 only has a capacity of 200 liters, when the parts are not too large for the opening. However, the roof can be raised a bit in the trunk. As a consequence of the lack of space are created two single seats rear.
