The strategy of the frequent change of model has its price. At least the resale value suffers, especially when the change is so strongly as by the P1. And the successor really looks again quite different. Fortunately, Opel then finds a line, even if the model changes are more hectic.

Thereby each Rekord is worth an observation. The P2 seems to come again closer to European taste, barely indicated wings, up to the chrome grill relatively simple and not too wide effect. Under the body it has of course all the good Opel qualities.

If you consider that there were only three gears at the beginning of the P2 production, one has to wonder, how well can be driven the car. Well, the possible top speed is much higher today, but are really necessary up to nine gears?

As really 'light-footed` you can not describe this Rekord (nomen est omen). Here is probably the quite solid workmanship meant, the is particularly pointed out by the slogan 'Opel the Reliable' (Figure 7). It is not in vain in registrations in Germany no. 2 products in total and no. 1 in the midsize cars. 01/15
