The factory has done much effort has made and itself left (almost too) long time, finally to see the light of world with the first front-wheel drive. Although Opel is normally regarded as relatively innovative company, yet some developments take a long time. Only Ford is still later. After all, one can not say that the draft was plagiarized somewhere. It comes edged and not immediately to cuddle and with distinctive width and narrow C-pillars. With rectangular headlights, it looks like all of a piece.

Yet, under the sheet metal is much taken over. The starter engines from its predecessor, the suspension (especially the rear) of VW. The Kadett D is also within the parent company the beginning of a new era, which by and by will include almost all models. More than five years should took alone the Kadett development and have cost about 500 million DM. From the outside one does not suppose, that its development has been orientated on VW Golf.

Wider and longer it is, it seems more grown-up and offers a bit more interior space. This also applies to the luggage compartment and even more for the estate version immediately available. Even the cW-value should be significantly better than that of the Golf. However, also the prices are higher and that with partly a little few basic equipment. Almost unbeatable are the body variants, to which in addition to station wagon belong also two differentlarge lids at the rear.
