It is the fourth generation of a very successful car in the B-segment. Externally, it differs from its predecessor with almost invisible rear doors. This trick saves offering a three-door, especially because the platform is also for vehicles from Nissan.


For an everyday car, the design is quite sophisticated, for example the strongly retracted side surfaces to the B-pillar, a nearly revival of the almost forgotten running boards. The slightly outdated naturally aspirated four-cylinder remains as base engine. There are each a three-cylinder turbo with indirect and a four-cylinder turbocharged with direct injection.


The latter is only available with six-speed dual clutch transmission. Apart from that, it remains strictly a manual transmission with 5 gears. The Grand Tour is a year later and 20 centimeters longer. How good that the normal Clio has already a fairly large payload, because that is reduced and not increased for the Grand Tour.


Special models from Clio are on the market. This includes the GT version shown below, but also the all-electric Zoe and from 2016 an especially powerful version with the engine of the Megane R.S. 06/16
