One say competition activates the business. In the case of the Corvette the appearance of the Ford Thunderbird in 1954 has really helped to get this project alive. Most likely the new V-8 too, which is not only 30 years younger than the old R-6, produces more power, consumes less fuel and can much higher rotate, and even is more light. The car is faster ca. 20 km/h and together with small modifications of the suspension also clearly safer in curves.
Now there is from the beginning a manual transmission and an option to a fixed roof. The movable top really is waterproof and the hood to open easily. Finally there are other colours than white. The rear is smooth and the side windows fixed, from glass and even optional electrically to crank. New in the styling are the drawn sides, bordered by trim strips. On the car wings strike novel air intakes however with no function.
