Almost 5 centimetres lower than its predecessor

After a late start, all together 1,9 million Touran have been sold. After the first generation in 2003 and the second in 2010, this is the third generation, although a facelift did change the car in 2006.

Luggage compartment pretty much unchanged

If in the last generation the petrol engines produced 77 kW (105 HP) to 125kW (170 HP), they now have are 81 kW (110 HP) to 132 kW (180 HP). The performance of the Diesel engines is, instead of 77 kW (105 HP) to 130 kW (177 HP), a now even greater increase, from 81 kW (110 HP) to 140 kW (190 HP).

More space for the 2nd. row, still only little for the 3rd

At the same time, they are now apparently, up to 19% thriftier, combined with a weight-saving of 62 kg. It is now possible to enjoy increased comfort by choosing the 3-zone air conditioner. Much more important for some, will be the longer wheelbase with the even more increased outside length, which benefits the seating comfort in the rear.

A touch screen which is inclined towards the driver's seat

So, an even more composed suspension and stronger engines have been provided. In addition, there are an increased number of shelves and one has the combined talents of the various assistants. Instead of having to get MirrorLink accustomed to Apple, there is now App Connect. Something new, to improve the front/rear communication, are microphones which amplify the spoken word.

LED- instead of Xenon-lights

The fact that the backrest of the front passenger seat can be folded right to the front, like in the Golf using the same basis, should have been thought about, at least as an optional extra. The increase in space for the second seat-row has also been used to be able to lower the seats into the flooring, as it already was with the third row. 03/15
