You miss the Seat logo. Since you can search a long time, even on the car itself, because this is a new brand. This is obviously so serious to the Seat people that they have already given the first model its own name, but that of an existing Seat model. Does not mean anything else than that more Cupra models will follow.

The Seat Ateca is available from 20,000 euros, the Cupra Ateca will cost at least twice as much. But Seat is on the up. You obviously can not deliver as many models as ordered. However, almost everything can be ordered in the Seat Ateca. There are seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and 19-inch wheels possible, the door sills, the eight-inch display in the middle and digital information behind the steering wheel.

It has actually coupled only the beefy engine to the Cupra Ateca, after all, 81 kW (110 hp) more than the strongest previous. In addition, there is a black glossy look all around, also for the rims and the Brembo brakes behind it, however, at extra cost, just like the carbon look outside and inside. Cupra seats, Alcantara door panels, aluminum pedals and nobler seams are standard. We also did not find the 360°-camera in the normal Ateca price list.

One may expect further Cupra models, e.g. a Cupra Leon or a Cupra Ibiza. All have the by far strongest engine and more exclusive equipment. However, one thing is denied the manufacturer by establishing the sub- brand, as BMW at the M equipment or Mercedes in the AMG equipment cheaper vehicles with the exclusive equipment but without the technology are not to be offered.

And then there is the Cupra TCR, which participates on the eponymous race series from 2018 on. With it differ damper, steering wheel, hood, bucket seats and of course the software for engine management. The TCR, too, carries the copper-colored logo, the only truly comprehensive innovation, because it is designed in such a way that, in contrast to others, it allows far more than just one interpretation. But do you know what is meant by the four Audi rings, the BMW logo or the three peaks of the Mercedes star?
