The V10 engine is used as a petrol engine primarily in the racing area (formula 1). Typical petrol engines for the passenger car area of the premium class are rather V8 or V12 engines. As a diesel engine it is recently introduced in the premium class and with another cylinder angle and substantially higher cubic capacity it is used in the truck area. 05/08
