Coolant Pump (truck)

The coolant pump in a truck is indeed, somewhat larger than the one in a motor car. It functions here as a flow-pump, and in this case, unlike in the motor car, it is also not intergrated into the engine. The circulation channel, with it's gradually increasing taper and the engine-side opening, can be easily seen. The substantial diameter of the opening allows the conclusion that the cooling circuit is relative large. Typical in trucks, is that it is driven by a straight-cut spur gear, which is probably aligned with the camshaft drive. 03/11
