2021 VW Multivan T7

What do you do when, as a manufacturer, you have to charge more money for the new generation than for the previous one? Since the previous price contained a diesel engine, it will now presented later and one does not have to increase the price so much.

But, which customer is looking so closely? First of all, there is rightly the fascination with the new. Two lengths, inexpensive also with one and the same wheelbase, a more differentiated front with connected LED light units, even split on both sides at the rear.

The interior really gets going with a more than variable seating concept. All seats are individual, run on rails and from there they also have their electrical connection to the front. You can install and move them, even in the opposite direction, but you can no longer rotate them at will.

However, this has the advantage that you can load and unload these weighing less than 30 kg as only one person. Even a folding table can be latched in the middle, and can also be moved all the way to the front as an armrest. And if you leave it out, the way to the front seats is free.

The dashboard has no bulge for the gearshift lever because there are now only dual clutch transmissions. The 10'' display is very nicely integrated, unfortunately surrounded by hard plastic and unnecessary wood applications. Otherwise it looks really valuable, also has two lockable glove compartments.

In contrast to the 1.4L hybrid, the new 1.5L petrol engine is really of the latest design, even with its 7 instead of 6 gears in the hybrid. But it's better to wait for the 2.0 TDI already because of the fuel economy for longer trips. And the hybrid is only worthwhile for 20 km of commuter journeys without and 40 km with charging facilities.
