 2025 Tesla Model Y

No, Tesla does not have a proper facelift. Anyone who wants to buy a new Tesla has to check for themselves whether a more modern version will be released in the near future and whether their new car will then look old.
This is also the case with other manufacturers, but Teslas sell much faster. You don't actually order them, you buy what has just been manufactured. Writing in a sales contract that you want the latest version and then
getting it seems difficult.
Is it actually an advantage or a disadvantage if you don't have much choice when buying a Tesla?/td>

Is it even possible to determine where the new car should be built? We hear that the Model Y Juniper is already rolling off the production line in China, the previous version was the top registration number last year, for
example second in China and first in Germany. However, if you think that it will be built in Grünheide too, or that you can get a fixed date, then that's nonsense.
We are still considering a possible purchase. Can you even write 'Juniper' in the purchase contract? And what do we do if we would like long range with only rear-wheel drive, but it is only available with less range or as an
all-wheel drive model with a large battery?
Now you may realize that Tesla is a special manufacturer. 'It happens with other manufacturers too,' you might say, but can you sell your old car to Tesla by a specific date? We experienced it with Hyundai, where they
provided a loaner car due to a delay, for an indefinite period of time until the new one arrived.
And what kind of facelift is that? As usual, the look has changed, a continuous narrow light bar and headlights of the same type, a wider light bar and more conspicuous rear lights. You could leave it as it is, it looks better
than before. The better aerodynamics also increase the range by 10 or 18 km. No, the batteries themselves have not gotten larger, 62 or 79 kWh gross.
Now also with a front camera. |
We don't want to blame it for the lack of conversion to 800 V, but perhaps the 170, now 175 kW compared to 250 kW in the larger model. Together with the Supercharger network, they are of course still great cars for long
distances.
The rearview mirrors are still difficult to adjust via the display, but the rear seat backrests are also electrically adjustable and, believe it or not, the indicator lever is back instead of the button on the steering wheel. The
interior finish is now more than up to its class.
A lot has already been done to prevent the wheels from rattling. The appropriate dampers and other tires have also been added now. So there is less noise from below, but also from above thanks to special glazing.
Whether you can get the new one from €45,000? |
