2019 Seat Mii Electric

Never has the Mii had a classic infotainment system, only a cradle to jam ones smartphone into. Then you need the iDrive app, depending on Android or Apple, a charging cable and the Bluetooth function turned on. The smartphone opens with radio, e-manager, map import and trip data, whereby the latter are probably the most important for an e-car. After all, there are consumption and range readable. The e-Manager offers much more than just the graphics of vehicle operations or the recuperation diagram.

Here you can really start planning where and at what time the vehicle should be loaded. The highest level of comfort is also possible, namely fully loaded and air-conditioned. Should you not require the one hundred percent capacity of the battery, it is very good for its service life to limit it to 80 or at most 90 percent. Except for the pre-air conditioning, the setting only makes sense if you charge at home and have a night electricity tariff, for example. Otherwise plug in and permanently 80 percent is sufficient.

For the map import even the required memory space is indicated. So you can limit yourself and choose 'Germany' and the neighbouring countries instead of 'Europe'. The second page allows you to maintain the Contacts even when the smartphone is connected. The Ecotrainer is highly recommended, especially for beginners, as it provides direct feedback on energy efficiency. It is best to take a little time to study the settings possible in the setup. All menu items on the smartphone can be selected again on a button bar at the bottom of the screen.

The Seat Mii can recuperate via both the brake and accelerator pedal. The recuperation rate set using the lever on the centre console. This allows you to roll without recuperation in stage 1, less or more by releasing the accelerator pedal (steps 2 and 3). The recuperation is strongest in stage 4, so that you need almost no brake except in case of imminent danger, good in the city, but maybe the other steps are a little bit cheaper for longer motorway trips.

For those, the Seat Mii Electric is perhaps a little less made than the same car with a combustion engine. Otherwise, it is a relatively cheap electric car, especially when you take battery capacity into account. Although one has to pay a little more for certain charging cables and seat heating, one can currently deduct 3.570 € from Seat in addition to the subsidy from the state, not to mention the other advantages for e-cars, tax- and parking- wise.
