2026 Renault Trafic electric
It has been in production since 1980. To date, 2.8 million units have been produced. It is now being launched as a fourth-generation all-electric vehicle. The Trafic Electric is built at the same plant in Sandouville,
France, where the internal combustion engine models continue to be manufactured.
This is a separate company within the Renault Group, which should not be confused with the company that is part of Stellantis. One of the Renault Group's partners is, for example, the Volvo Group. Ford remains the
market leader among light vans, but Renault is right behind in second place.
The design of this car is very modern and not just because of its 800 volt architecture. The company itself classifies them as software-based vehicles. As part of this plan, the goal is to reduce the number of key control
units from 80 to 2.
So it's not just because of the potential 81-kWh battery that it outperforms the Ford Transit City, which has only a 56-kWh battery. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Ford in terms of price. After all,
Renault is already promising a 10 percent reduction in total cost of ownership compared to a combustion engine vehicle.
It's also available with a double cab and, of course, as a chassis with just a front cab. They promise that, through partner firms in France, they can ensure particularly smooth responses to the currently so
popular plans for remodeling or interior renovations.
The car has so much cargo space that three Euro pallets easily fit. It doesn't quite take full advantage of the height of other vans, so it would fit into absolutely any parking garage. One of its most impressive features is
its small turning radius, which is comparable to that of a compact car.
