 2025 Peugeot E-208 GTI
Perhaps it will be available to order this year, but whether it can truly succeed the legendary 205 GTI or perhaps the 208 GTI of 2013 is a big question mark. But the engineers
also have a hard time turning an electric compact into a small rocket.
The limits are simply too narrow across the company. The 208 is perhaps one of the last to still have to make do with this small battery. That means either sporty or up to 350
km. Both at the same time won't be possible.
Especially since you waste a lot of time at the charging station. And at home, there isn't even three-phase charging, so a car that won't be on the market until 2026 is already
completely out of date. Perhaps there will be an option, which almost everyone has these days, at least for an additional charge.
The GTI also suffers from the fact that the E208 already looks quite good and makes you feel almost at home inside. But perhaps the red tones, the steering wheel, and the very comfortable
seats can win it over. The GTI logo with the engraved brand name is certainly noteworthy.
Yes, it's 30 mm lower. The limited-slip differential will also make curve carving easier. But the bottom line is that there's simply too little variability left, especially in the sporty compact class. This is where the
departure from the combustion engine is probably most painful.
