How many exchange stations does Nio currently have (2025) in Germany? There are already 21, and even more in the Netherlands and northern Belgium in terms of surface area. The question remains whether one can then afford to compete with a lower charging rate than that of the competition.


This EL 7 model already achieves this with just 140 kW for the smaller battery, and even less for the larger one, but this car is already from 2023/24. That would be the point at which people might start to question the prices for this car: the smaller battery costs an additional €12,000 and the larger one €21,000.

It's important to consider that this vehicle offers an incredible amount of standard features that would otherwise require additional payment. Furthermore, the impressive dimensions of the rear seat and luggage space are features that may not be available in other models.


The large battery is connected to the 21-inch wheels. But even more important is the air suspension system, which, in combination with the chassis, steering, and engine, allows for a wide range of adjustable settings. This truly is a car designed for long-distance travel.

Maybe not yet with the tighter steering that is usual in Europe, but certainly with a very high level of comfort. Never before has a passenger seat been seen that can be used as a reclining seat with a flap so that the legs also have perfect support.

The seats are comfortable, even in the back seats for longer journeys, and there's ample storage space for luggage. And for those who still need more, the standard-equipped towbar offers one of the highest trailer load and upport load in its class.

At over 2.4 tons, it's certainly a heavy sedan, but with 480 kW (653 hp) in one of its two sport modes, it's surprisingly agile and can accelerate to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds. And this performance is achieved using all four wheels, not just two.

And yet, with a sensible approach, safety doesn't have to suffer. The EL7 deliberately displays some of its features, including over 30 cameras mounted on the roof. Anything left out? Definitely with such an abundance of features!
