 2019 Mini Cooper SE
The rims are sometimes to steal away, to start with the least important for an electric car. Otherwise it doesn't look like a pure electric car from the outside and hasn't inherited very much from the prototype except the
rims. Instead of the usual blue the chose Green. It's a pity about the successful design two years ago (see video):
It's just a normal Mini, even a three-door model against the trend, which has taken over the electrics from the BMW i3s. Of course, this works for the engine, not so much for the batteries, because the i3 was specially
designed for it. Perhaps this is the reason for the slight and recently bigger difference in capacity, which is one of the weaknesses of the new Mini E anyway.
But there are other advantages. At home and with alternating current you can charge it with three phases and if there is not so much time you can charge it with direct current up to 50 kW. In the best case scenario, this
would mean 80 percent in 35 minutes. In addition, there is liquid cooling for the battery, which makes an undiminished charging process possible. There is also a heat pump, the use of which extends the range a little.
The Mini has the black covers on the wheel arches of higher SUVs, because the battery compartment requires 18 mm more height. You will have to check whether the chassis of the front wheel drive can keep up with
that of the other Minis, especially as it has of course increased in weight. It weighs around 145 kilograms more than a MINI Cooper S 3-door with Steptronic transmission.
Inside, the Mini is as confident as ever. The dashboard with the spectacular middle section has been retained, the display behind the steering wheel is digital and measures 5.5 inches. The touchscreen in the middle
has 6.5 inches diagonal, optional 8.8 inches. Probably potential buyers will need more time to design the interior than the rest.
