2024 Leapmotor T03
'Leapmotor International BV' is the name of the founding of Stellantis (51 percent) and Leapmotor (49 percent). There are two models, the small T03 and the much larger C10, with Europe playing a decisive role in their
launch.
Stellantis allegedly paid 5.9 billion euros for the remaining 21 percent of the now 51 percent. A proud sum that suggests a lot of seriousness. But Leapmotor can boast really an impressive 400,000 sales on the Chinese
market.
By final assembly of prefabricated parts sets at the Stellantis plant in Tychy (Poland), a possible
penalty tax can be avoided. |
Leapmotor has been available in China as a purely electric vehicle since 2015, and the T03 with even less battery and motor since 2020. It beats the Dacia Spring, also a Chinese product, in almost all areas that are
important for an electric small car. However, LEDs are only available for the daytime running lights.
It is actually significantly higher, but the same length and price here. As you can see in the pictures, it even has a panoramic roof with an electrically sliding roller blind underneath. Inside, it shines with an 8'' display behind
the steering wheel and a 10.1 inch display in the middle.
However, there is no separate navigation. |
It is clever to keep the luggage compartment small and in return the foot space in front of the rear seats large in such a short car. You can then fold down the rear seat backrest for shopping alone or with a partner. The car
basically has no glaring weaknesses.
Its suspension comfort is even praised. |
