The low height of 1.14 meters is undercut from sports cars even the own company, but not their relation to the width. Amazingly clear design in birth pangs. These are characterized by the takeover of VW and intervention in the design. At the end one choose the design of Luc Donckerwolke who probably had more limitations on his work on the Audi A2. Here it is not so much on financial than on performance aspects. The large engine produces a lot of heat and this has to go and the body development is exactly dictated the cross sectional area of the entering cooling air. Whether the design has to do with the name Murcielago ('bat') or at least with the bull still living after 24 thrust of a lance is left to the viewer.

This is the first car on which the new owner Audi is absolutely in charge. The sale quadrupled from the start compared to the best years. It seems that the search for the final goal is finished, one now knows what one wants and is rather abruptly on target for it. However, is not sure how long it will give heavyweight twelve cylinders. Smaller engines achieve in just such cars similar performances and have at alike adventurous curve speeds perhaps the slightly wider threshold.

Incredibly, the effort is operated for the Murcielago. On a tube frame made of high-strength steel rests a body made from carbon fiber, with doors and roof are again made of steel. The air inlet valves open depending on a combination of air, cooling fluid temperature and road speed. The rear spoiler is at 130 km/h and 220 km/h in each case a further extended position. The disc brakes have in front 8 and rear at least 4 pistons. 12 liters of engine oil in circulation and 15 liters of coolant suggest perhaps a bit why the tank must hold 100 liters and 500 g/km CO2 emissions are scarcely underquoted.
