2026 Kia PV 7
It's hard to believe, but a PV9 is even supposed to follow in 2029, once the PV7 launches in 23 variations in the second half of 2027. At this time, both the PV7 and its cargo version were presented only
in the long-wheelbase version.
So there will be even shorter versions, but their length is not yet known. At 5.35 m, its length falls between the 5.05 m and 5.45 m of the two versions of the VW e-Caravelle. The
upcoming PV9 will likely be even above that.
Kia has not yet announced prices, but the e-Transporter Kombi, priced at approximately €63,000, and the e-Caravelle, priced at €66,000, could serve as a benchmark for the German market. Added to this are the
presumably smaller battery capacities in the e-Caravelle.
But be careful: VW clearly states that the 64 and 70 kWh figures are net, while Kia consistently remains vague on this point. But the PV7's potential 96.2 kWh is really something. In that case, perhaps
the Mercedes VLE would be a better fit, at least in terms of length, though certainly not in terms of price.
However, Mercedes has promised a VLE 250 to be available later starting at €68,000; it could have the same battery capacity as the less powerful PV7, but also significantly less power. In terms of comfort
it might be worth checking it out.
We highly recommend that anyone interested visit Hyundai. Like the Kia, it features 800V technology; it’s slightly shorter, and its battery capacity falls exactly between those of the two PV7 batteries; and it has
the advantage of being available for order immediately. Price according to ChatGPT: 57,450 €.
The Hyundai Staria can also hold its own visually against the new PV7 line, though it has a slightly rounder design. But the real rival is being built in China, the
XPENG X9. If you're still interested, please compare them yourself, and perhaps consider the level of comfort as well.
