2022 Ford Tourneo Connect

It's the Transit Connect family version, the smallest among the Transit and Transit Custom, but actually it's a VW Caddy that has been modified mainly in front, steering wheel and navigation system. At the very bottom you can already see the video of the prototype for a purely electric Connect based on the MEB modular system from VW.

Something is happening in the field of vans, electric cars and even autonomous driving between Ford and VW. As with the Caddy, the Tourneo Custom will be available with one petrol and two diesel engines, the most powerful even with all-wheel drive. The Ford will also come, already like the Caddy, as a 35 cm longer version with a wheelbase that is 22 cm longer.

Nevertheless, there is also the shorter version with a choice of seven seats, but only two of them have mountings for child seats. At over € 30,000, the Ford is apparently € 5,000 more expensive than the VW, although both have the same additional charge of around € 1,600 for the smallest diesel engine. The VW even lacks the left sliding door in this version.

The bumpers in the Caddy are grey, and it doesn't have alloy wheels either. However, both still come with halogen lights in the series, but at least with manual air conditioning and lane departure warning. The Ford is electronically better equipped, e.g. with a navigation system, but it is only available in two slightly more upscale versions.
