PresentationParis 1963

For the homologation regulations it is planned as a front-engine 250's because of this type has only been built more than the required 100 units. But in reality it is a mid-engine 250 P with a roof that shall be extended wind tunnel suitable. Also is probably only the first of the series a little 250er, all others must actually be called a 275er.

The 250 LM will keep its name, but is recognized by the FIA only as a prototype and thus starting against his own very successful predecessor. And also even when the is equipped with more displacement, and thus more performance. Not even unsuccessful. So it achieved a double victory in Le Mans 1965.

It is interesting in this context that both winning cars are used by private teams, true to the old motto of Ferrari, that as much as possible are done of private financed teams because the fame anyway benefits the company. So the winning streak of the 250 LM hold out against even a partly now more stronger 250 P for at least two more years. Even in 1968 we see it e.g. placed at Brands Hatch (GB) in the top ten.
