1968 Abarth 1300 Scorpione Coupé
It is similar in bodywork and chassis to the Lombardi Grand Prix (picture above). Only the engine is considerably stronger, derived from the series of the Fiat 124. That gives it superior performance. Nevertheless, it is not a
nervous racing machine, but surprisingly suitable for everyday use.
More than 14,000 DM is a proud price for that time, more than twice as much as the 850 Coupé, 3000 DM more than the Lombardi Grand Prix. For a good 11,000 DM Fiat offers a Spider with mid-engine and similar
performance. No wonder the scorpion eventually reached its selling limits.
