Constant Depression Carburetor
Assignment
Carburetors with a static choke funnel and variable pressure need, for almost every operational area, their own system, whereas constant depression carburetors with a variable choke funnel diameter can carry out
almost all duties, without additional facilities.
Function
As in the motorcycle carburetor, the choke funnel opening is held variable by a crosswise-sliding piston and a needle-jet.
The possibly emerging lower inlet manifold pressure is conducted to the rear. The atmospheric pressure pushes the piston upwards, against the spring-tension, and increases the opening of the choke funnel
through the inlet manifold pressure. Any oscillations that arise, are absorbed by the damper oil (green). An amount of fuel, proportional to the amount of air, flows through the needle-jet. 07/09
