Disc spring
Automatic clutch, cover, and disc spring cut open

kfz-tech.de/PKp64
The diaphragm or disc spring replaces the transmission elements between the clutch cover and the pressure ring and reduces the operating forces for the driver.
Attached to the clutch cover with tilting rings or bolts.
A slightly conical spring steel disc, slit several times from the inside, connects the clutch cover to the pressure ring. Due to its preload, it presses the pressure ring against the clutch disc when the clutch is engaged. To
disengage, the release mechanism presses against the slit segments, thereby pulling the pressure plate back. This construction produces the greatest contact forces at the contact point. When the clutch pedal is pressed
further down, the force on the disc spring tends to decrease rather than increase, unlike with coil springs.
Tilting via pedal actuation reduces pedal force.
