Before Christmas

kfz-tech.de/YKfz5

No, it won't be possible without a car. How do I know? Just had this experience. I'm driving through town. You really shouldn't, not even with an electric car, because the traffic is already heavy enough.

But it's really fun to drive along almost silently through the area. In the days of my cars with combustion engines, I always found that a burden. I also loaded four crates of water, pointless with public transportation

Unfortunately, a woman didn't hear my car either. When she hears the screech of my brakes, she looks in my direction and smiles with a slightly guilty look. I smile back.

I actually wanted to write 'It's Christmas', but that seems a little too simplistic. However, a certain mood is slowly spreading within me. The calmness of the car irradiates onto its owner.

Perhaps the only quiet place so close to the festive days. In any case, the parking lot in front of the supermarket was quite full, and the entire shelf behind the bakery saleswomen was quite empty. There was just enough left for one favorite piece.

And so I dawdle through the city. Afterwards, I have to go back and pick up my wife with the contents of the large shopping cart. So I have time, because everything I do too quickly, I have to wait for later.

So it doesn't matter whether the lane for vehicles turning left starts moving slowly or quickly. I almost prefer it slow. For quite some time now, slow drivers have bothered me less, a result of one-pedal driving with recuperation until coming to a complete stop.

I don't have any appointments to rush to, so all I can do right now is drive with my car. However, Johannes Brahms' Fourth is playing on the radio, described as rather difficult to access. I think it's simply beautiful.

Fits my mood perfectly. A young man of foreign origin runs diagonally across the intersection. I'll stop, he smiles at me so skillfully apologetic, that I won't smile back this time.

I'm so lucky! I don't have to run around the supermarket, work my way through my shopping list, or push aside abandoned shopping carts.

A woman stands pensively on the narrow path with the beverage crates. I'm waiting, can't turn in. When she notices me, she does several things at once: she loses her composure, apologizes, and quickly disappears.

When I don't feel like it at home anymore, I just leave the crates with water in the luggage compartment. Then we'll just have to swap the bottles in the garage. They may be glass bottles, but they won't freeze there.

When you have big tasks ahead of you, you should break them down into smaller ones. You can't do them all at the same time anyway. But one thing is certain: it's impossible to do without a car altogether.
