So it's going to be exciting. How does this petite woman get the vehicle into her workshop? That's because it's not always just a 0.5 ton truck, as in this case. This could also be a large bus or truck. Either she has a driver's license for these vehicles as well, or there is no distinction.

What observers don't notice is her very precise view of everything that is missing. Danach wird der Lastkarren gepackt. The most important spare part is the battery, which is almost always necessary, and a small but always sufficient amount of workshop equipment.

This includes a compressor, even though there is usually no electricity on site. However, the boilers' pressure is sufficient to reduce the dust in the cabin to such an extent that it is reasonably possible to sit down. It can also be useful when working on the engine.

Next comes her indispensable cordless screwdriver, which is used to loosen or tighten a seemingly endless number of screws, including those that require delicate handling, such as those on the turn signal lenses. slotted screws, Phillips screws, and even oversized wheel screws—all done in no time with this tool.

It's downright shameful to still be using a wrench or screwdriver. Even the most difficult areas seem to be accessible with this device, if necessary with a quickly attached extension.

Searching for the right nut, almost non-existent. Apparently, there are no stuck screws on the exhaust manifold, and there don't seem to be any broken bolts. I would also like to mention the incredible robustness of these Japanese and Korean vehicles.

When starting, an engine intermittently expels coolant from the open cooling circuit. Its head is not always removed for easier access, half from inside the cab and half from behind it, undergoes only thorough cleaning of the sealing surfaces and receives a new seal.

However, we only saw the one, e.g., no new one for the intake manifold. The cylinder head has therefore not been checked for flatness, and also not planned, and after assembly it is as if it had never been severely leaking.

But now we're already dealing with one of the toughest cases of getting the vehicle back on the road. Normally, replacing flat or missing tires, which are often delivered by handcart, is sufficient. Then the new battery you brought with you is installed.

The starter or even the carburetor may also be missing. However, in the latter case, it is often sufficient to dismantle and thoroughly clean the device, again without replacing the seals, of course. The spark plugs often fail and must be cleaned or replaced with new ones.

Then the engine should start, or at least there should be power in the dashboard. But that's not the case, because someone made a mistake in the wiring harness or disconnected it in the wrong place. It's amazing how quickly the error is found.

The method of connecting pipes also deserves attention: Cut to length with scissors, twisted often enough, wrapped with sufficient insulating tape, and occasionally tightened with a lighter. Often, refueling, electric fuel pumps, and filters do the rest to start the engine.

Unwilling diesel engines receive special treatment. What deserves particular praise is the careful cleaning of pipe connections before dismantling or simply loosening them to see if fuel is coming through. This is then vented in combination with the hand pump.
