The ingenuity of the Italians is astonishing. And the carelessness with which they draw on history. The new one cannot be compared with the old one and its significance for the Topolino A, B, and C series.

This is a small car developed by Citroën under the name 'Ami' and then handed over to Opel. While the car initially cost around €6,000 + VAT at Citroën, at Opel, as the Rocks-e, it was already €7,000, and currently even €8,000.

By removing the doors and adding a roll-top roof with suitcase and luggage rack, it will likely be offered in Italy for just under €10,000. To such cheerfulness, appropriately called Dolche Vita, is matched by the remark that this is one third of a normal car.

Of course, that's a gross exaggeration, because then such vehicles would generally be a good 7.5 meters long. So it's roughly half the size of a normal car. The problem for Fiat was less about the design than the art of modification.

And the Italians have succeeded almost better than the Germans. However, it can be assumed that it will not compete with the Opel in Germany. It's also a better fit for the beach in Rimini, especially in the open-top version.

Presumably because the plastic parts are dyed throughout, it's only ever available in mint green. If Amani, Damiani, Maserati, Lorenzo Yachts, and San Pelgrino really contributed to the design, the changes are rather modest.

But clearly present. The front and rear are no longer identical. From the front, the Topolino is clearly recognizable as a small car from Fiat. In addition to the understated rim design, the fabric roll above the dashboard stands out as tasteful, while the fan is the opposite.

No, you wouldn't want to crash in this car, and its suspension comfort is modest. But the top speed is put into perspective when you consider that in Stuttgart, for example, the general speed limit is only 40 km/h.

The exterior cladding and the doors are made almost exclusively of plastic. Surprisingly, the driver's door is hinged at the front and the passenger door at the rear. You are more likely to trust the driver to make sure that you don't open the door while driving.

Each door has its own lock, which requires a certain amount of caution when leaving the vehicle. A second key is for the ignition. The only thing missing is the turning further and the sound of the starter.

The charging cable is hidden in the left door. So you have to open it, pull out the cable, and plug it into a Schuko socket within a range of about two meters. Then the battery will definitely recharged. Then you thread the cable back in.

The vehicle doesn't necessarily need winter tires, as it's impossible to load below freezing temperatures. The driver's seat is adjustable. There's usually some room left in the passenger footwell. For such a small car, you have to get used to sitting far back.
