Multi-purpose vehicles is the name given to this design, which has been sorely missed for some time. Fiat also discontinued it as a combustion model in 2010, but can still be seen in the last video below. There are
corresponding models from Peugeot, Citroën and Opel.
Let's start with the seven-seat version, which also allows for a folding table. It's a good thing that the seats opposite each other are offset to make it easier to arrange the legs. Before companies plan business meetings in
it, they should try it out with five people.
The more normal arrangement would then consist of two rows of three seats each, with the rear ones mounted on rails in the floor. Benches with three seats can be moved lengthways 2 to 1. They can be removed fairly
easily and three child seats can be placed next to each other.
| The backrests are then individually adjustable. |
A table is created by folding a backrest all the way forward or by ordering it with the 'Launch' variant. In this case, however, only two seats are possible on one side. However, they move so far together that the above-
mentioned offset is created.
That would be the version with eight seats then. Amazingly, depending on the version, there is still 900 to 1,500 liters of luggage space left. The seat backrests can be folded down to a horizontal position and used
accordingly, making it easy to enlarge the luggage compartment without removing the seats. Incidentally, the benches can be split 2 to 1.
| The rear window can optionally be opened individually, e.g. if the rear of the car is hopelessly
blocked. |
In the 'Launch' version, the E-Ulysse has a two-part panoramic roof, which, as is so often the case with electric cars, cannot be opened. Each pane measures 100 x 40 cm, 0.8 m2 in total. A sliding roller blind
allows the roof to be darkened. The air conditioning controls are visible between the two windows. There are also two LED strips for ambient lighting.
As much as the standard equipment with at least five assistants, heated front seats, alloy wheels and rear parking sensors is impressive, it is regrettable that the reversing camera and the separately opening rear window
are not included.
Electrically, the vehicle was already slightly outdated in 2022 with a charging capacity of just 100 kW, and much more so in 2025. A facelift is urgently needed to make it a really comfortable car for longer journeys and not
just to the airport or as a conference vehicle.
