Transmission noncoaxial
Admittedly, the gearbox shown below is not the newest, but a non-coaxial five-speed gearbox already proven over many years for transverse mounting. It it easy to recognise by the large final-drive gear with tapered
roller bearings at the bottom. On the right of it, the leverage for the shifting is mounted. Here one can also perceive the transmission to the selector rods, of which there are only two left. The shifting collar for the
1st/2nd gear is moved through a sliding sleeve on a selector rod. Here one can see the straight-cut gear for the unsynchronized reverse gear. Also typical is the outside horizontal 5th gear (right at the top) which
subsequently, was built in at a later stage. 07/09
