Sequential Gearbox with Electric Servo-motors
Gearboxes which can be automatically shifted through actuators, have been around for some time now. What is important in the above figure, is the solely electrical solution. Two (somewhat larger) servo-motors are
responsible for the movement of the selector rod, in both the axial- and the circumferential direction. The whole module can be assigned, using little space, to almost any gearbox. In the future, many vehicles will
probably be bought, at a (moderate) extra cost, with a sequential gearbox. 03/10
