Assignment

The fraction force diagram (final drive) should show the free traction force on the driven wheels for each gear, depending on the driving speed.

Function

The torque on the driven axle increases in each gear up to the RPM of the maximum torque, to then drop slowly to the nominal RPM, dropping at first gently, and then stronger. Thereby, the maximum torque is higher, the lower the chosen gear is. If the torque on the driven axle is divided by the dynamic wheel radius, then one obtains the traction force. This behaviour is similar to the torque. The driver can see, using this diagram, among other things, at which speed and with increasing resistance, (e.g., when driving uphill) when to change gear (intersection of the curve), in order to always bring the maximum traction force onto the the driven wheels. 02/11
