Wheel Base
Function
The wheelbase of a car has a direct influence on the driving comfort. The larger it is, the better swings around the transverse axis (wagging vibration) can be absorbed by the chassis. This holds true also for the direction stability and the effort while steering. A short wheelbase improves the handling and the manoeuvring behaviour.
How it works
The wheelbase is the distance between the middle of the front wheels and the back wheels. With almost all vehicles it is identical for both sides. 09/08
