Two-stroke engine Cross-flow Scavenging

Fresh gas out of the by-pass pushes the old gas out.

German version

Function

Equipped with only one by-pass port and one exhaust outlet port an optimal scavenging is aimed at.

How it works

By-pass port and exhaust outlet port subtend each other. The mixing of fresh gases with old gases, difficult to avoid fully with this system of scavenging, should be somewhat reduced by a specially formed piston crown (nose).

Application

The cross-flow scavenging is outdated for two-stroke engines already for a while. 06/08
