Compressed Air Brake (trailer)

Function

The compressed air brake's function is to apply the same pressure force on the trailer if the vehicle's brakes are enforced fully, and slightly more than with the vehicle in front, if the brakes are not enforced to the full power.

How it works

One pipe connection makes sure the trailer is serviced with compressed air, through another one its braking system is controlled. There is a trailer control valve in the vehicle. In case of a pressure leak certain safety measures become operative, in the worst case an immediate full braking of the trailer.
The spring type cylinders (below to the right) secure the trailer when it is parked.

Emergencies
Demolition reservoir pipeImmediate release of the emergency brake in the trailer
Demolition brake pipe Without brake actuating no reaction. During braking, trailer reduces control valve Supply pressure of the trailer -> emergency brake
