nanoflow cell is a company founded in Liechtenstein end of 2013. Its products have still not tested any independent experts, but at least the model Quant E has the MOT approval. Additional tests are needed for series production.

As a prototype there is also the Quant F. This is like the Quant E a four-seat sports saloon with doors laterally foldable upwards. Below the Quantino as 2 + 2 seater with 3.91 m length. Important difference: The smaller works as one of the first e-Mobile with a maximum of 48 volts, therefore it does not need some security checks.

We have already reported of the further advantages of this system. One assigns it rather under the rubric of hybrid vehicle.That engines with only 48V power can move vehicles in a sporty manner is new. The company nanoFlowcell helps here the splitting of the electric drive on four wheel hub motors, as well in the case of the Quant as the Quantino.

As the name 'Flow Cell' implies already, liquid electrolytes or ionic liquids consisting of metal salts in aqueous solution are pumped through a kind of battery cell, a positive and a negative charged, strictly separated by a membrane, and produce electricity there. These two liquids will tanked as before, but both in different tanks at the same time.

However, enormous amounts of it are needed, already twice 175 litres at the Quantino. According to company statements can be reached a range of 1,000 kilometres at an appropriately cautious driving style with 20 kWh/100km. Therefore the range does not seem to depend on the amount of expensive batteries, but on the capacity of significantly cheaper tanks.

A further advantage is indicated, these liquids are not dangerous for the environment, and for example, in no way compare with petrol. The idea behind, they could be filled into all possible cavities of the body. The density of water provided, of course, 350 kg extra weight remain, even though it can be distributed in a strategically favourable manner.

The Quant F has with 500 litres, according to the manufacturer, 800 kilometer range. It should weigh 2.3 tons. Comparing it with the 4WD Tesla, so its weight is similarly high, but it demonstrated a maximum range of about 400 km on public roads. Nevertheless, the for the Quant F would almost twice as large.

One indicates 10,000 possible charging cycles compared to 1,000 with Li-Io batteries and a five-fold higher charge density, also opposite to Redox Flow batteries. There are assumed maximum 80 Wh/l. Case of the Quint F it would be at 800 km times 20 kWh/100km 160,000 W, the divided by 500 l results in 320 Wh/l, the flow cell not included in the calculation. 09/15
