 2017 Renault Mégane R.S.
These 'coincidences' are more common lately. If the Megane GT has 205 hp, the Megane R.S. has 205 kW (280 hp). As if the engine designers only had to say what they wanted, as in the mail order
catalog in earlier times.
However, this is a special engine, with 1.8 instead of 2 liters asin its predecessor but not so extremely downgesized, made entirely of aluminum. The exhaust gases are shared each to a compreysing wheel of the
charger. Each helps in its own way to propel the common shaft. Although they are inextricably linked, it's called a 'Twin.Scroll Charger'.
So that's the third generation of the Mégane R.S. Much has happened to the suspension. In addition to shock absorbers with hydraulic end stops being adopted from the rally version, there are now four driving modes,
which of course also affect the areas of steering, shifting and engine responsiveness. In the picture below, the four-wheel steering is explained. You see the rear axle steering with against and with the front wheels.
Optionally, an even sportier Cup suspension with specially adapted limited slip differential is available.
The front has a daytime running light in the finish flag design, the rear a powerful diffuser with central tailpipe, but of course the car is driven from the inside, where decorative seams and logo dominate several times
in red, to an Alcantara steering wheel. Surprising if 35,000 euros would be sufficient for the basic equipment, because even the GT costs 30,000 euros and the standard equipment with in the R.S. is e.g. with Four-
wheel steering much larger. 12/17
